SITUATION

The property is situated in the foothills of the western Pyrenees in the Pays Basque/Pyrenees Atlantiques. It is 90 miles to the East of Biarritz, about 95 miles or 1.5 hours drive away. It is 3 miles from the small town of Licq-Atherey and just 5 miles from the Spanish border at Larrau.

ACCOMMODATION

Lohidoy Borda was originally a shepherd's cottage which was rebuilt and modernised in 1992 and has been substantially and tastefully renovated by the present owners. It offers accommodation ideally for a couple with one double bedded room en suite upstairs and on the open plan ground floor a kitchen, dining and lounge area.  The lounge area has a large wood burner. From 2016 there will be an adjacent self contained annexe comprising a studio/bedroom and utility room with shower. There is a large patio and covered porch at the front of the property overlooking the valley and during the summer months it has sun from early morning to about 5pm.

GROUNDS

The property stands in grounds of 10 acres on a steep hillside with spectacular views over the valley and mountains.  Access is uphill via a one mile single track road to the 100 yard driveway to the house which is suitable for all vehicles. Because of the steep slopes around the property the accommodation is unsuitable for small children.

Note that pets and smoking is not permitted.
